Introduction

We’re excited to announce that we’ve hit a milestone of 50 views on Itch! All of us at Shadow Duck Studios want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your interest and support in Isles of Ignis. Over the past two weeks, our team has been hard at work, implementing improvements based on feedback from our QA testers.

Through a long iteration process, our art team has truly brought the game to life. Collaborating closely with the design team, they’ve ensured that every visual element fits seamlessly into the world we’re building.

Our environment artist has meticulously sculpted various rocks and structures befitting our mighty overlord, Obsidius Blaze. They’ve taken careful consideration of the environment type, aiming to create a believable yet enjoyable experience for players.

Taking on a massive role, our character artist has heroically created five out of the six characters featured in Isles of Ignis. Their quick, high-quality work has been instrumental in bringing our characters to life, and we can’t thank them enough.

Prop Art [Maddison Newton (MadPippa)]

Our grandmaster prop artist has not only crafted the props but also the defences players will use to protect Obsidius Blaze. They’ve been the glue between art and design, ensuring that all art assets are properly integrated into the engine and displayed at their best.

Tech Art

Lurking in the shadows, our elusive tech artist has been adding immersive VFX to the game. From the fire of the traps to the energy of the hammer, their work enhances the visual experience, making the game world more vibrant and engaging.

Our design team has been hard at work taking feedback, analysing level design, game feel, sounds, and gameplay balance. Their efforts have significantly improved the look, feel, and enjoyment of the game, solving numerous challenges along the way.

The Backbone of Isles of Ignis

Creating the core game mechanics, our tech team has been the backbone of our game’s development. Starting from rough prototypes, tested extensively by our volunteer QA testers on Discord, they’ve worked tirelessly to squash bugs and enhance their skills. The result is a set of amazing game mechanics that form the heart of Isles of Ignis.

Looking ahead, we aim to start streaming on Twitch. Our main content will be gameplay, but we might also share some secret dev stuff… shhh.
