Last week, we kicked off our Shadow Logs with an overview of what you can expect from Project Henchmen and gave you a glimpse into our unique blend of strategic tower defence and immersive third-person action.

In this week’s update, we’re diving into the heart of our game’s story with an introduction to the narrative that will drive your adventures in Project Henchmen. Get ready to meet our characters up close, as we showcase some of the initial sculpts and materials that bring our henchmen and heroes to life. We’re also unveiling the early designs for our traps and turret mechanics, which will be crucial to defending your lair and thwarting your enemies.

In this week’s update, we’re thrilled to introduce you to the main narrative of Project Henchmen.

You step into the shoes of a faceless minion, cloned to serve Emperor Daemon the malevolent overlord of Mt. Vile, a volcano situated on the islands of Ignis. Emperor Daemon rules his domain with a fiery fist, and his minions are assigned various tasks, from running restaurants and repairing the lair to preparing his coffee and robes. Your role, however, is to defend him at all costs, ensuring his evil plans stay intact regardless of what goes awry.

Below are the player character blockout with simple materials that are ready for rigging that the art team has been working on, as well on the sub minion species that will be manning the turrets/traps for less than minimum wages. Will they put up with the long hours or will they have other thoughts…

Character Profile: Emperor Daemon Emperor Daemon is the driving force behind the game’s narrative. As a draconic-orcish figure with veins of magma and pink power crystals embedded throughout his body, he exudes an intimidating presence. His obsidian mask conceals his face, adding to his menacing aura, and his arcane staff—crafted from the elements of his lair—symbolises his dominion over Mt. Vile.

Made in the depths of Mt. Vile’s art team is this fiery lava material, don’t get too close as you may catch fire.

Throughout the past week, Emperor Daemon has had interior decorators to spruce up the place.

With a blend of confidence, tyranny, and a penchant for sarcasm, Emperor Daemon rules with an iron fist. His schemes, whether petty crimes or world-altering plots, are fueled by his insatiable thirst for thrill, power, and wealth. Despite his fearsome reputation, much of his power is inherited, and his success is as much due to luck and charisma as it is to skill. His careless and lazy tendencies often lead to plans going awry, underscoring the minions’ importance in his defence strategy.

The game centres around wave-based tower defence mechanics, utilising an array of traps and turrets to protect the lair. These defences are enhanced by Emperor Daemon’s own sinister contraptions, as the relentless Adventurer’s Guild launches large-scale assaults to capture the villain responsible for widespread chaos.

Gameplay Integration In-game, Emperor Daemon commands from his throne at the centre of the map. His presence is felt through his constant orders, criticisms, and boasts as players fend off waves of attackers. The lair, located within the heart of Mt. Vile, is a testament to his fiery legacy, with a chaotic, brightly lit environment that evolves as the game progresses. Protecting this lair is your ultimate mission, ensuring Emperor Daemon’s reign continues unchallenged.
